Indications and Usage: Nitroglycerin Injection is indicated for the rapid control of blood pressure in patients with acute hypertensive crises, as well as for the treatment of angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction. It may also be used as an adjunct therapy in the management of congestive heart failure.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage of Nitroglycerin Injection should be individualized based on the patient's clinical response and tolerance. It is administered intravenously at an initial rate of 5 to 10 mcg/min, titrated upward as needed to achieve the desired therapeutic effect. The maximum recommended dose is 200 mcg/min.

Dosage Forms and Strengths: Nitroglycerin Injection is available as a sterile solution in vials or ampules for intravenous use. It is commonly supplied in concentrations of 5 mg/mL or 50 mg/10 mL.

Contraindications: Nitroglycerin Injection is contraindicated in patients with severe anemia, increased intracranial pressure, and hypotension. It should not be used in patients with a known hypersensitivity to nitroglycerin or other nitrate compounds.

Warnings and Precautions: Use caution when administering Nitroglycerin Injection to patients with hypovolemia, as it may precipitate or exacerbate hypotension. Nitroglycerin should be avoided in patients with constrictive pericarditis or pericardial tamponade.

Adverse Reactions/Side Effects: Adverse reactions associated with Nitroglycerin Injection may include headache, dizziness, hypotension, tachycardia, flushing, and methemoglobinemia. Rarely, syncope or rebound hypertension may occur.

Drug Interactions: Nitroglycerin Injection may potentiate the hypotensive effects of other vasodilators, antihypertensive agents, or alcohol. Concurrent use with phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors (e.g., sildenafil, tadalafil) may result in severe hypotension.

Use In Specific Populations Description: Safety and efficacy of Nitroglycerin Injection in pediatric patients, pregnant women, and nursing mothers have not been established. Use caution and consult with a healthcare professional before administering to individuals in these populations.
